What we collect

Symbolic does not create user profiles or store a history of your searches tied to your identity. Your queries are sent to the Brave Search API to return results and are not used to build an advertising profile.

Cookies

We use a single functional cookie to remember your safe-search preference. It contains no identifier and is never shared.

Third parties

Search results are provided by the Brave Search API. Your query is shared with Brave to fetch those results, subject to Brave's own privacy policy.

Advertising

Any ads shown are matched to the words in your current query, not to who you are or what you have searched before.

Data retention

We do not retain search logs linked to your identity. Aggregate, non-identifying metrics may be kept to keep the service running.
